And the S.S. of the Year Award Goes To…

- The 2010 Can-Am Crown is officially in the books, and what a weekend it has been! This years winner was Matt Carstens of Whitefield, New Hampshire. Congratulations goes out to Mr. Carstens and all of the racers involved for helping to make this another great year of Sled-Dog racing in northern Maine!

This year I was privileged enough to score an invite out to one of the Safety Stations with a few buddies. After a beautiful morning taking in the start of the race among almost 8,000 spectators in the streets of Fort Kent, my buddy Jon and I made our way deep into the north Maine woods to help the fellas set up camp. Between the beautiful weather, good company, good eats, and a little bit of light logging, one hell of a time was had by all.
Below are some pictures from the weekend. Click on the thumbnail to read the story behind the image!

Listening to Jim's stories around the fire, waiting for the dogs to come through!

Another year in the books, and another photo album of memories that will last a lifetime! Next stop for the Up’North crew? Fishing season!

T-Minus 23 days.

  1. Looks like it was an awesome day, I need to do something like this as well. Every now and then I need to get away from the city and just see the outdoors.
